Hydrostatic Pressure Test Safety Checklist

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

hydrostatic-pressure-testHydrostatic test is used for confirming mechanical integrity of installed pressure vessels and pipe lines. It has to be completed before putting the pressure vessels and pipe lines in use.

According to ASME Section VIII Division I, hydrostatic pressure is conducted at the pressure of 1.5 times design pressure. If a vessel is design for holding 1.0 kg/cm2.g pressure, the hydrostatic pressure test has to be done at 1.5 kg/cm2.g. (more…)

Where to Buy a Carbon Monoxide Detector

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Carbon monoxide detectors play an important role in preventing carbon monoxide poisoning. It detects carbon monoxide gas at certain level in workplace and soon warns workers to do necessary measures.

Carbon monoxide detectors are either battery operated or electric. Battery operated CO detector needs to be replaced the battery after being achieved its service life.

There are three types of CO detector sensors available in the market. They are electronic sensor detectors, calorimetric sensor detectors and Metal Oxide Semiconductor (MOS) Sensor. Electronic sensor detector is the most sensitive detector, but the cost is higher than other types. Study their advantages and disadvantages before making any purchase. (more…)
